Urban and sleek and classy
Guys, my sister got married on Saturday! And it was very lovely. She loved her sparkly shoes and pretty hairstyle, we got really nice pictures at Union Station, and my toast went swimmingly. My sister looked beautiful and glowed the entire day. She laughed during the ceremony. Everything was urban and sleek and classy! It was so very them.
And then, somewhere along the lines, stuff like this happened.
Samurai swords for the groomsmen! Super fun after party! An appearance by Teddy, the Racing President (our awesome surprise present)! And the most shocking of all, my dad on the dance floor!
Here’s another look at how I felt about it.
Everyone else is like, “Yay, Sister and BIL!” and I’m all, “YOU GUYS, LOOK AT MY DAD!”
I’m boarding a plane this afternoon for a conference in Florida, so this quick teaser is all I can manage for now. More details and stories still to come, I promise. In the meantime, congratulate my sister and her new husband!

Oh goodness, this is just gorgeous! (And the shoes!? Gaah, I die! So pretty!) Also, I am cracking up at your dad.
Can’t wait to hear/see/read more about it!

Love the shoes, love the dress, LOVE that picture of you and your dad! I’m so glad that Teddy was such a hit!
Hahaha, love your dad on the dancefloor – he’s so cute! Glad the day went well, everything looked gorgeous.
Congrats, Mr. and Mrs. Sister! It looks like a perfect wedding — just the right mix of elegance and fun. Everybody looks so gorgeous, and it was clearly a great party!
Super congrats! What a gorgeous, fun wedding. Your dad looks like he’s having a blast (as does everyone else)!
Thank you, Internet! It was a fun time indeed that was punctuated by much laughing (maybe at the end of the ceremony – oops) and even a few tears…oddly enough when I saw a gigantic Teddy Roosevelt trying to hand me the signature cocktail – sheer shock and awe and shock again!! I do have to say – I *heart* those shoes and plan to wear them again and again and again. I was so lucky to see all my family and friends in one place. Hopefully they also had as good of a time as me and Husband (eeeep!) did!
